Time Machine M.A.G Visit

wpid-wp-1400799955435.jpegWYC took a trip to Manchester Art Gallery to visit Joana Vasconcelos exhibition Time Machine.  ‘Crazy’, ‘futuristic’, ‘octopus’ were just some of the words that immediately sprang to mind when we first encountered ‘Britannia’, Vasconcelos’ specially commissioned piece for the art gallery that adorns three floors and takes over the main atrium space in all its bombastic explosive textiled colour!

We also met with the Creative Consultants, Manchester Art Gallery’s youth group and heard about the events that they have recently organised in the Gallery for other young people. Helena Lee then gave us a special guided tour of the exhibition, for some of us it was very surprising to see a rifle covered car, a Lillicopter and automated irons that opened and closed like flowers in a Gallery, the artworks certainly provoked opinion.
